Funeral Director Solutions was set up in 2013 by funeral director Colm Kieran, who has been a full-time Funeral Director in the family funeral business, Kieran Bros. Funeral Care, since 2011. Colm graduated as a Civil Engineer in 2003 and has worked in various Project Management roles for almost 20 years. Colm has a wealth of knowledge and insight, having previously served as a Board Member and Communications Officer for the Irish Association of Funeral Directors.
In 2013, Colm founded Funeral Director Solutions. Combining his experience of roadworks engineering and funeral directing, Colm has identified a range of products which are suitable for the needs of funeral directors who wish to provide information to road users and funeral visitors regarding ceremonies in their area.

Funeral Director Solutions now supply our products to over 150 Funeral Directors across the 32 counties of Ireland. Our equipment is repeatedly used at hundreds of funerals each year. Our products are used in both urban and rural locations. The equipment has proved invaluable at family homes, funeral homes, on busy national routes as well as country lanes in warning other road users that care is needed where a funeral ceremony is taking place.
Áine Gogarty joined the Funeral Director Solutions team as Client Manager in 2020. Holding a degree in Construction Management, Áine has many years of experience in Project Management, Logistics, and more recently Funeral Live Streaming and as a Funeral Operative. With a wide base of knowledge, excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail, Funeral Director Solutions will ensure that our projects are delivered to the highest standards.
As a former spokesperson for the IAFD, Colm’s expertise and knowledge of the industry often led to enquiries from other funeral directors as to how they should structure and present their fees to their clients in a clear but sensitive manner, in accordance with the IAFD’s own recommendations. Funeral Director Solutions have a tailored procedure to help funeral directors assess their current fee structure, and we will make recommendations on areas where adjustments may be necessary, and how to present these fees to families. This has proven to be a very valuable exercise for our Clients.
In 2020, responding to the Covid-19 Pandemic, and recognising the need for funeral directors to engage more with families through online means, Funeral Director Solutions developed the Virtual Funeral Arranger, allowing the close contact time between funeral directors and families to be reduced, and facilitating ease of transfer of information between family and funeral director when drafting funeral notices. The Virtual Funeral Arranger is the first digital product of its kind, and has an ever growing presence in the funeral industry in both Ireland and the UK.
